Get Off The Concrete

Get Off The Concrete is an annual summer gathering for men already involved in men's work. Hosted by Essentially Men each February it is a four-day land based event held at a remote forest site on the coast North of Auckland.

The purpose of the gathering is to create a place for men to develop friendship and connection with likeminded men, share skills and ideas, hang out and have fun, be inspired and promote social action and service. It is an opportunity for us to live, learn and share our journeys while involving younger men.

Secondary school aged boys and young men are welcome to attend with family members or friends.

This is not a gathering for men who are new to men's work. A prerequisite is to have attended Essentially Men or some similar event that promotes trust and connection between men in a structured manner.
