Why a Men's workshop anyway?

The Challenge of Being a Man

Over the past twenty years there have been many challenges to the way men are in the world. Increasingly men are in the process of examining where they are today and where they want to go from here. As they learn more about themselves they are undergoing exciting changes in their relationships and lifestyles.

What has our culture told real men to be? On one hand providers, protectors and achievers, and on the other sensitive and caring. Many men feel confused about what it is to be a man today and often feel cut off from their feelings or lack a sense of personal power. The way forward is to go beyond living up to external expectations and discover our own uniqueness as men.

We admire the friendships women have but often don't know how to create the same for ourselves. Many of us feel isolated from other men and tired of being trapped in superficial ways of being. Can we go deeper than the traditional camaraderie of pubs, clubs and sport?

A Journey

A workshop is a group of men that have come together with the agreement to take a journey deeper into themselves, it becomes safe to let down our armour. We can explore feelings not normally allowed to men, like grief and joy. We can attend to the healing of memories to do with fathers, mothers and others, which affect the way we relate in our present lives. We can explore the causes of our anger and find power from a place of inner strength rather than control of the world around us.
